Central Mountains

Overview

Namibia is well known for its wealth in flora and fauna, but also for its richness in geology. The Central Mountains lend a large contribution with beautiful granite features, intricate rock crevices and truly unique formations. Many books have been written on the various mountain ranges, their origins as well as the rock engravings and paintings found on them. The area encompasses a rich inheritance in terms of incredible history, stunning scenery and beautiful lodges and farmlands. Home to many endemic species, some of them highly endangered, the central region of Namibia should not be passed by.
