The Hobas campsite is located 10km from the Fish River Canyon's main vantage point. The Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world and the largest canyon in Africa. It is also the second most visited tourist attraction in Namibia. The canyon is a popular hiking destination.
There are 14 campsites, all with their own barbeque areas, taps and lights. The ablution facilities at the camp include showers/baths, toilets and wash basins. Depending on the time of year, there is a restaurant that caters to guests and alternatively there is a kiosk from which basic groceries, beer , wine and tinned food can be purchased.
Reptilies are in abundance in the area and include the Legun lizard, cape cobra, black spitting cobra, puff adder and horned adder, there are also various insect species such as locusts, butterflies and moths. Fish such as the barbled catfish and yellow fish can be found in the natural pools of the Fish River.
Activities that can be enjoyed include visits to the Fish River Canyon, Hobas campsite is located close to the main viewpoint so guests can expect amazing vantage points of the canyon as well as hiking trails and walks.
