Shark Island is located on a peninsula in Luderitz and offers visitors accommodation at affordable prices.
Accommodation at Shark Island is either in a lighthouse or in three bungalows. The lighthouse has two rooms with two beds in each room and two bathrooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen with cutlery & plates; kettle; fridge and a sitting room with a television. There are three standard bungalows with the same self-catering facilities and each unit has its own bathroom with toilet and shower.
The campsites have access to a 220V power point providing electricity 24 hours a day. There built-in fireplace also doubles as a barbeque and there are also taps available. There is an ablution block with showers, toilets and baths. There are dishwashing facilities and laundry facilities available.
Activities include angling and fishing; visit to the national monument; sundowners; boating; Kolmanskop Ghost Town; sand rose trip into the Diamond area at Agate beach; Luderitz peninsula which is a popular sighting area for flamingos and Diaz Point which was the landing point of 17th century explorer Bartholomew Diaz.
