Camping Tented Camps Biking Cycling Day Tours
Just below the Khomas-Highland Escarpment, nestled in a Valley bordered by Granite Mountains, and about halfway between Swakopmund and Windhoek along the C28 Gravel road, you will find Farm Donkerhuk West.

A family-owned farm covering an area of 7614 hectares, offering one exclusive Campsite and three Luxury Self-catering Tents for visitors.

Breath-taking Landscapes invite you to various activities such as Hiking, Mountain biking, guided or self-drive Farm Drives and Night Drives, or just to relax in your camp of choice.

Historical indigenous sites, artefacts and Rock Paintings, as well as remnants from the colonial era and an old mineshaft from the 1960’s can be visited during your stay with us.

Although Game is not abundant here, Oryx, Mountain Zebra, Giraffe, Warthog, Klipspringer, Kudu and Springbuck, to name a few, can at times be spotted by a keen eye during farm drives and hikes.

Among the nocturnal species that might be spotted on night drives, are Springhare, Aardwolf, Bat-eared Foxes and Silver Fox, with African Wildcat, Porcupine, Honey Badger, Aardvark, Striped Polecat, Small-spotted Genet, Caracal, Brown and Spotted Hyena as well as Leopard being an absolute rare bonus when spotted.

Barbarossa Tented Camp
The Tented Camp has three large luxury Tents, each with en-suite Bathroom. An open air Field kitchen and Dining area and a setting under Camelthorn trees in the floodplain of a dry riverbed, give this camp an “Out of Africa” Ambience.

Situated on the C28 Gravel road between Swakopmund and Windhoek, this camp is perfect for small groups that want to overnight in the outdoors, but still want the comfort of a real bed and own bathroom.

The field kitchen has a BBQ , Fire pit, Stove and Oven, Dishwashing Facility, Tables and chairs, electric lighting and is equipped with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils for six guests.

The “Leopard Canyon” and surrounding Granite mountains invite you to hiking or rock climbing and afternoon strolls. Leisurely Self-drive 4×4 Farm Drives, with or without a guide, will add a bonus to your Namibia “Glamping” Holidays.

The camp does not have power outlets, nor a swimming pool. 12 volt solar systems provide for lights in the tents and field kitchen.

Firewood can be purchased at the reception.

Although Camp Barbarossa is a self-catering Accommodation, we also offer Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Dinner. Any meals required, have to be booked in advance.

Andi's Camp

Our campsite for camping Namibia, Andi’s Camp, is nestled under large Camelthorn trees in a dry riverbed in a secluded valley, and can only be reached by 4×4, due to a sandy road stretch leading there.

Numerous Camelthorn trees make it possible for groups up to 20 people to stay at Andi’s Camp, but the campsite will only be allocated to one group at a time, to offer tranquillity, exclusivity, adventure and relaxation to our visitors, thus making it one of the quietest camping places in Namibia.

The “Leopard Canyon” and surrounding Granite mountains invite you to go hiking or rock climbing and afternoon strolls.

Leisurely Self-drive 4×4 Farm Drives, with or without a guide, will add a bonus to your Namibia Camping Holidays.

We offer clean toilets and showers, dishwashing facility, a BBQ Drum and a Campfire pit, while the Camelthorn trees provide some shade for tents and vehicles, making your stayover between Swakopmund and Windhoek, along the C28 Gravel road, an unforgettable adventure on your Camping Namibia Trip.

The campsite does not have power outlets, nor a swimming pool. 12 volt solar systems provide for lights in shower and toilets.

Firewood can be purchased at the reception.

The Canyon Dinner (min. 4 people)

In a small Granite Canyon at the end of the Valley, we set up an Outdoor “Restaurant” under the stars. A very special candle light dinner for small groups, where we serve a three course meal, freshly prepared on the grill, and exclusively for your group.

Please bring your own drinks, as we do not cater for any kind of beverages. This event has to be booked at least 3 weeks in advance.
