Top Rated - Shopping in Namibia

Shopping in Namibia can surprise you if you know where to look. This list highlights the highest rated shopping spots, chosen purely by genuine traveller reviews, not just editorial picks. It’s about places where visitors keep coming back, praising the experience, variety, and value.

Most of these places are in Windhoek, especially around the Northern Industrial and Klein Windhoek areas, where you’ll find everything from authentic crafts to everyday essentials and upscale boutiques. Outside the capital, towns like Swakopmund and Walvis Bay also earn top marks for local markets and artisanal goods, especially during the dry season when travelling is easier.

One tip from someone who’s lived here: if you’re after handmade Namibian crafts, try to visit on a Saturday market day, when more local artists showcase their work. Real traveller reviews often mention the friendly sellers and honest pricing then. These spots aren’t just popular for their products but for how approachable and genuine the shopping feels.
