Description
Experience the adventure and beauty of exploring the Namib Desert on your own 4x4 vehicle lead by an experienced guide.
Your day starts after collection from the parking opposite Flamingo Villas Boutique Hotel, Walvis Bay at 8:30 AM. After a quick briefing, you'll depart towards Sandwich Harbor. Along the way, stop at the Walvis Bay Lagoon- a Ramsar site which is home to 250,000 flamingos during the rainy season.
Stop at the Walvis Bay Salt Refinery where you'll learn more about the production taking place there. From there, drive alongside a natural salt pan en route to the Namib Desert.
Stop to look for wildlife along the way and then its onto Sandwich Harbor. The narrow stretch of beach you have to pass next is exciting. It is the famous area where huge Namib dunes meet the roaring Atlantic Ocean.. Conclude your tour back to Walvis Bay.
