Durstenbrook Guestfarm is situated about 50km north-west of Windhoek and is en-route to Etosha National Park and the coastal town of Swakopmund. It is set on a high river bank overlooking breathtaking scenery. The guestfarm is set on a 14 000 acre farm that has been in the Vaatz famiy since about 1942.
Accommodation at the guestfarm includes double rooms which all have en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets. Some of the double romms have double beds and others have twin beds. All rooms have solar heated showers and the Felsenhaus has two luxurious rooms which both have a private terrace. The rooms in the Kolonialhaus have extra single beds, making them ideal for families.
The single room is perfect for an individual traveller and has similar features as the double rooms.
There are two large stand-up luxury tents which are set about 30m apart. They have a fixed wall and an en-suite bathroom built out of natural stone and a private terrace.
The Hippo chalet is a rustic cabin set on the banks of the dam, in the middle of the farm's reserve. There is an en-suite bathroom and a double bed in this cabin.
Activities in the area include game drives, mountain drives, horseback riding, birdwatching, walking trails and 'cats unlimited'.
