Alte Kalköfen Lodge

Keetmanshoop

The name Alte Kalköfen derives from two old lime ovens situated on the farms Simplon and Sandverhaar. Both ovens were built in the early 1900’s with the purpose to produce lime that was used for construction and agricultural purpose.

Convenient and centrally located only 2.5 km off the B4, 90 km west of Keetmashoop, the lodge is an ideal stop over for visitors travelling between the Fish River Canyon and Sossusvlei as well as between Keetmanshoop and Lϋderitz.

The restaurant at the Lodge is open for travelers en route; they can enjoy breakfast, light lunches, a cup of coffee or tea and dinner.

Apart from beautiful facilities and the many activities offered, the personal touch is what makes a stay at Alte Kalköfen well worthwhile.
