Description
Explore the beauty of the Namibian desert, where the Atlantic Ocean meets towering dunes, on a full-day adventure in a 4x4 vehicle with a trained guide.
Join your guide as you set out across the magnificent dunes of Sandwich
Harbour, where sweeping landscapes meet the endless Atlantic shoreline. Along the way, enjoy several stops, including the Walvis Bay Lagoon to view flamingos, as well as the striking salt pans (often called “pink lakes”), home to a variety of birdlife.
This full-day experience also includes exploration of the Pelican Point Peninsula, known for its large seal colonies, black-backed jackals, and abundant birdlife.
Pause at Donkey Bay, famous for its world-class surfing conditions, or visit the Pelican Point Lighthouse and jetty for excellent photo opportunities. You will then stop near the shoreline and playful seals to enjoy a relaxed beach lunch. Begin with fresh Walvis Bay oysters and sparkling wine, followed by a main course of beef fillet, crayfish, salads, and freshly baked breads.
After lunch, continue on to Sandwich Harbour. As you enter the national park, keep watch for wildlife such as brown hyenas, oryx, and ostriches. You will stop atop some of the highest dunes for spectacular views and time to fully appreciate the surroundings.
Hold on as you travel the ancient, rolling dunes in an exhilarating 4x4 drive. There will be a short break for snacks and refreshments before continuing deeper into the desert for further exploration.
After experiencing the dramatic meeting point of ocean and desert and exploring the highest dune peaks, you will return to Walvis Bay, where your 4x4 tour concludes.
