If heaven had an address, it would be on the corner of Sam Nujoma Avenue and 16th Road in Walvis Bay, Namibia. This is where the Belgian Choclatique’s factory shop is situated. Despite the name, it is a proudly Namibian brand that has been keeping diverse palettes happy since December 2013. “Belgian” sprouts from the fact that they use Barry Callebaut Chocolate, the world’s top chocolate producers for over 150 years. Every single chocolate, truffle and bar is handcrafted with love and care, which is why the Belgian Choclatique has turned into a household in Namibia.
Producing more than 90 chocolate varieties, the Belgian Choclatique’s owner, Adelaine Bruwer loves trying out tantalising new flavours, but also likes traditional flavours that will have you reminiscing about your childhood days in no time. Ranging from a more local Amarula-filled truffle or a traditional melktert filling to classic Irish coffee cups and strawberry-filled chocs, there is so much to choose from that one visit is simply not enough. Chocolate slabs come in different sizes and are perfect for Christmas stockings or gifts for any occasion. They also cater for diabetics with the open praline or full praline truffle with the famous praline filling in a sugar-free case, topped with a pecan nut and available in both dark and milk chocolate.
On request, the Belgian Choclatique can help you tailor-make your own gift boxes with a selection of truffles. They also make hampers of different sizes for any special occasion, which includes assorted chocolates, dipped angel biscuits, slabs (big or small), nougat, branding/messages, biltong and droëwors. All hampers are beautifully decorated according to the occasion. They do free deliveries in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
