Khorixas

Khorixas was previously known as the capital of Damaraland, however this honor moved to the little town of Opuwo after Namibia gained its independence. It houses filling stations, shops, the Khorixas Rest Camp as well as a branch of the University of Namibia to service local youths along with six schools. Khorixas is a great town to stock up on supplies before traversing into the vastness of the area, other than that there is not much to mention. Roads from the town do lead to many of Damaraland’s jewel attractions such as Twyfelfontein.
