Description
Your 3-hour tour begins at the Walvis Bay waterfront, where you’ll be given a quick briefing before heading to the Walvis Bay lagoon, the first attraction of the day,
Walvis Bay is considered one of the most important lagoons in southern Africa, and is home to hundreds of flamingos, pelicans and avocets. Stop for photos and to learn more about this spectacular site.
Then it's off to the Walvis Bay salt refinery, where you'll hear about the production processes before heading out on an off-road, 4x4 drive in deep, loose sand.
Stop to see a shipwreck and the remains of an old jetty. As you approach the lighthouse, your guide will provide some historical information about this landmark.
By this time, you will have reached the very tip of the peninsula, with the Walvis Bay lagoon on one side and the mighty Atlantic Ocean on the other. Take a break for refreshments and enjoy some free time to watch the seals and birds.
Afterwards, you’ll be transferred back to the Walvis Bay waterfront, where your tour ends.
