Description
Explore the steeper side of Spitzkoppe on a guided journey towards its False Summit. Follow the Gulley Route, combining a walking approach with hands-on scrambling through granite terrain. As the route rises, sandy ground gives way to slabs, ledges and narrow passages. Some sections require your hands, and exposed moves demand steady footing and confidence with heights. Your guide leads the route and assesses progress as the group moves higher. The objective is the False Summit at approximately 1,650 metres, with views across the surrounding desert. This experience covers the False Summit hike and scramble; reaching the true Spitzkoppe summit requires a separate technical climbing outing. Allow approximately 5–6 hours for the complete trip, including descent. This moderate-to-challenging route requires good fitness and confidence on steep rock. Share your hiking experience and concerns about heights before the trip so the guide can assess suitability.Includes
