Aru Game Lodges

Aru Game Lodges are operated from two stunning and well established game farms, Veronica and Kalakwa. Both are situated within an hour and a half's drive to the south east of Windhoek. Covering an area in excess of 61 000 hectares, the farms, diverse in landscape and natural surroundings, offer an unforgettable and truly African hunting experience and a piece of heaven in the midst of Africa. Hunting:

Both farms have an abundance of game of a host of species. The most prominent are a variety of plains game. We treasure the principle of fair chase. Carefully constructed hides and blinds at strategic locations provide an outstanding opportunity for both rifle and bow hunters to experience animals at close range. Aru Game Lodges cater for the discerning hunter, offering two very different, yet equally remarkable hunting experiences with exceptional trophies.

Rifle Hunting:

Hunting is normally done by way of stalking on foot. Preferably we do not shoot from the vehicles, unless absolutely necessary and provided the client want us to. A fully qualified professional hunter will accompany you at all times. These guides will at all times maintain a high standard of ethics and sportsmanship in the spirit of the chase. A medium calibre rifle (.270, .30-06, .300) will be suitable, used with good quality ammunition with projectile weight from grains. A high velocity bullet with a maximum force on impact is needed. Telescopic sights with a four to six fold enlargement are sufficient.

Bow Hunting:

We cater for the esteemed bow hunter and pride ourselves in this sport. Strategically placed hides and blinds compliment those bow hunters who would like to make use of them. It is important to note that that the minimum requirements for bow hunting in Namibia are energy of (25 ft.lbs.) for small game, (40 ft.lbs. ) for medium game, and (65 ft.lbs.) for big game. Hunters should come well equipped as bow equipment in Namibia is limited. Well designed target ranges are also available on both farms.
