Rainbow River Lodge

Rainbow River Lodge promises guests maximum comfort and affordable accommodation options in the form of camping on the banks of the river or the comfort of a chalet.

The lodge has a restaurant and a licensed bar with a pool table where guests can have a scrumptious meal, a nightcap and enjoy a game of pool. There is a sparkling pool for guests to use on those hot days and an internet station keeps guests in touch with their loved ones.

There are 20 chalets, each with their own en-suite bathroom. Each chalet consists of a single room with either two or three beds and electrical power. There are also mosquito nets to protect guests from those pesky nightime critters as well as ceiling fans to keep guests cool during the somewhat sweltering nights.

There are also 20 riverside camping spots set on a green lawn and which have barbeque areas and power outlets. The camp sites have four shared washing rooms with running hot water. There is ample parking available and guests can pitch their tents right next to their vehicles. Guests are reminded to pack mosquito repellants for their own safety and comfort. Barbeque wood is sold at the office should guests feel like having a barbeque or they can enjoy a scrumptious meal in the lodge's restaurant.

Activities that can be enjoyed in the area include game drives, boat trips to Popa falls where guests can spot hippo and crocodiles, sundowners, freshwater tiger and breem fishing, canoeing as well as kayaking and guided walks and village tours. There are about 84 bird species in the area, making this an ideal place for birdwatching.
