Omaha Guest Farm

Omaha guest farm is located 2 hours from Windhoek at the base of Mount Etjo and is an ideal stop en-route to great destinations such as Etosha National Park, Waterberg National Park, Damaraland, Bushmanland, the Kavango region and the Caprivi Strip. Omaha is a word in the local dialect of Herero meaning 'the place where one can live'. Mt Etjo is the sister mountain to the more famous Waterberg plateau.

Omaha is ripe with flora and fauna of all kind including protected species such as Hartmann's mountain zebra, Damara Dik-Dik, Klipspringer and leopards. It is also an ideal location for birding enthusiasts as it has over 250 upland bird species and waterfowl. Other animals that can be spotted in the area include the kudu, oryx, world famous cheetah, warthog and bat-eared fox.

Activities at Omaha include game viewing of warthog, kudu, oryx, damara dik-dik, steenbok, duiker, jackal, suricates, ostrich, bat-eared fox, hares, leopard, cheetah, caracal, hartmann's mountain zebra, springbok, hartebeest and porcupines.

The guest farm also has a pool where guests can cool off and relax, farm drives with a guide, hikes to the various dams  or game viewing points, guided hikes to the top of Mt Etjo plateau which is over 2000m above sea level, bird watching, archery and target shooting as well as some hunting options.

Omaha guest farm also has a full tour and safari service.

Accommodation at the guest farm includes, the tower room, a double room with private bathroom; the pool room, with direct access to the swimming pool; the cheetah room, with en-suite bathroom, the African room, with a private non en-suite bathroom and the gecko room, a double room wiht a bathroom and bunkbeds in an attached room, ideal for families.
