Mopane Tented Camp

Mopane tented camp is built upon the banks of the Hoarusib river. Accommodation consists of 15 luxury tents that are all en-suite. The tents are equipped with beautiful sleeper double beds and have a veranda furnished with chairs. There is no electricity available at the camp.

Facilities at the lodge include a restaurant where guests can have their meals if they so desire, laundry facilities, a mini-bar/fridge is also available in the rooms, secure parking and of course the en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are all non-smoking.

Guests can enjoy visits to the Himba villages, these are organised by the camp or go on unguided walks and explore the area, that has interesting rock formations and cool rock pools, perfect for swimming (only in the rainy season).

There is a large variety of birds including the yellow billed bird, red billed, monteiro's hornbill, pale chanting goshawk, black shouldered kite, scops owl, pearl spotted owl, spotted eagle owl, white faced owl, grass owl, barn owl, rufous cheeked nightjar, bare cheeked babbler, crimson breasted shrinke, european and ble cheeked bee-eater, long tailed starling, golden tailed and cardinal woodpecker, various hoopoe and many other small birds. This is the idea place for all bird lovers.
